Public education has a price

New changes in the distribution of funding for Grammar Schools has forced some schools to ask parents for financial contributions. This money is used to pay for necessities like the salaries of teachers or teaching material. Although public school’s great advantage is the fact that they are free, many fear that this might change now indirectly. Latymer School has already made the call to ask parents for voluntary contributions and expects that many schools will follow. The source of the problem is the relocation of existing funding especially to more central schools leaving some schools in the suburbs to dry out.
