Inmates more willing to learn than students

The Walworth County Literacy Council’s jail has introduced a tutor system in 2008, allowing the inmates to work towards passing their GED. Somewhat surprisingly, the tutors sent in report back that it is easier to teach these inmates than teaching students in secondary form, because the prisoners are eager to learn and enlarge their knowledge.

Thy English Academy believes to know where the demotivation of most students is originating in. They do not experience the acquisition of knowledge as engaging and satisfying as they should. Taking tuition at Thy English Academy can therefore help to keep the students focused on the pleasure they get out of studying.
