Special Educational Needs children on their own

Redbridge Council has decided that children with SEN (special educational needs) no longer will receive assistance on their way to school. The decision has been made at the last council meeting in Ilford. Due to budget cuts only the ones that are considered most in need will be brought from door to door. All other kids will need to be dropped off at a collection point where the will be collected by a driver. Cllr Norman stresses that the services will still be available for all children who need it. On the other hand side, Jack Choudhury, chairman of the Redbridge and Waltham Forest Deaf society stresses that there hadn’t been any complaints about the service in the past because it was working well the way it was. Parent are dreading serious changes to their routine and they fear their children will no longer receive the help they need.
