Lee Valley Athletics Centre’s 10th Birthday

Pupils from Christchurch School and Loxford School took part in a friendly competition at Lee Valley Athletics Centre to mark its 10th anniversary. The Centre sees up to 4,000 visitors weekly and an overall of 1.5million athletes over the years. Amongst these, the most famous ones were Usain Bolt and Greg Rutherford. However, the true value of the facility is its great popularity amongst the narrow community. Hence, they decided to celebrate their 10 year anniversary with a competition between local children, since these are the people benefitting the most from this fantastic location. The exercises contained in the contest were 600m sprints, 60m hurdles, long jumps, vertical jumps and indoor javelin. All participants left the venue truly exhausted but with lots of joyful memories of the day.
