China’s literature goes global

Since China has been trying to become the world leading power they have been heavily investing in economic and political collaboration and engagement. However, rather little known areas they have paid attention to are literature and culture. In recent years they focused on translating Chinese poetry in English to make it accessible for the rest of the world. This, however, runs into serious problems since it is hard to preserve rhythm through translation.

Cultural education is as important as every other subject we learn at school. It is a precious good that needs to be preserved and guarded. At Thy English Academy we want to make children aware of the beauty of literature and art and make them understand that cultural values need to be respected.
