GCSE – General Chaos of Secondary Education

With the start of this academic year, an era has passed – the time of grading students on GCSE after an A*-G system is up. Now a new system using numbers from 1-9 is supposed to give the pupils a better understanding of their current state of knowledge and it will also allow them to move away from a pass-or-fail system. Furthermore, the new way of grading gives teachers the chance to deliver more accurate and fine-tuned feedback on a student’s progress.

Some parents or students, however might find it difficult to “translate” old letter grades into the numerical system and are desperate for guidance in this situation. Thy English Academy is happy to answer all questions you might have regarding changes in grading systems or in the overall syllabus.
