In March Town Hall the publisher Bird’s Nest books organised a workshop during half term for pupils to learn about storytelling, character design and comic styles. Everyone was impressed by the outstanding art work the children created in only three days showing that true art skills have quickly been adapted by the pupils. Comic art is a genre often underestimated by the artistic community, but still powerful in its way of expressing emotions particularly.
Especially children often struggle with expressing their emotions and feelings to adults or teachers and art can be a tool for them to free their thoughts. Teachers at Thy English Academy pay attention to messages that the children might want to communicate through their art works and help them to find their way in this complicated world.
